Dad and Me!
I have to share this story...last Friday was the most tiring day I have had in a while. It started out that Dad and I went looking for a 2nd antler from a deer he had found earlier in the week. After walking for about 1 1/2 hours, I headed back to the truck-Dad however was going to cut through the pasture, making his way to his land, about 2 miles away. I headed out, knowing there was a HUGE mud hole I was going to have to cross-but with a 4-wheel drive truck, no problem, right?? Wrong!! I got stuck, twice...ok, so the first time, I made it out, not so lucky the second time. As you can see, Dad's truck has never been so muddy!
So I jumped out and headed to meet him. Of course, he jumps in the truck and we're out in like 2 seconds...go figure. Then we see smoke coming from one of his pastures. We head over sure enough, a fire had been started by a passing train...not good. Dad has CRP---for those of you who don't have a clue---it can't burn until April. So we head back to the house, grab a shovel and rake and are on way to get the fire out. FYI-couldn't call the firetrucks, remember the mudhole...yeah, they wouldn't have made it throught. So for the next 1 1/2 hours, we are putting fire out...probably about 10-15 acres...two words; exhausted and smelly!! I was so tired, but it was just another day on the farm.
Yeah!! New Nightstands!!
So, I got the urge to re-do our master bedroom this weekend. I have always had a nightstand but Jason does not and I wanted to get matching ones...but could never find just the right ones! So, we headed to Lowes and decided to make them ourselves! We spent most of the day Sunday getting them cut, painted, and put together. I think they turned our fabulous. Yes, they are orange...and we left the underneath shelf raw. The zebra mag.rack fits perfectly. It matches our new bedroom colors beautifully!!
